People who enjoy colorful birds and sweet treats can enjoy both soon in Issaquah.
Cougar Mountain Zoo will be hosting the upcoming Pastries for Parrots event, which is a fundraiser on behalf of Armonia Bolivia, a conservation group.
The pastries mentioned are not for the parrots, but for the people who come to support them. Visitors to the zoo can relax with delicious sweets, fresh-brewed coffee, close-up encounters with parrots, craft activities suitable for people of all ages, demonstrations of animal enrichment techniques, and a photo to keep as a memento of the day. Organizers of events like this may find that colorful Posters, created by poster printing, are a cheerful and economical way to advertise the day.
The event hopes to raise awareness of the challenges facing endangered species of parrots, and supply funding to help in their conservation. Armonia Bolivia is working to preserve and protect populations of wild macaws. The organization was established in 1996 with the goal of collaborating with local communities to protect vulnerable wildlife and wetlands. Armonia is both an NGO and a non-profit, and wants to give local communities the tools to protect their environment. They have been recognized as one of the country’s most effective conservation organizations.
Pastries for Parrots is scheduled for June 7, from 10.00 am until 12.00 pm, at Cougar Mountain Zoo, which is located at 19525 SE 54th Street. Top Pot Doughnuts is sponsoring the event.
