Meditation aims to relax in Issaquah

An event that should provide relaxation and calming is now scheduled for Issaquah.

Hester Morrissey is offering a Sound Bath; a live, 75-minute guided meditation. Morrissey will be playing traditional instruments, such as Tibetan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, bells, and will perhaps also do some drumming. The sounds and vibrations from these various bowls, bells, and other instruments will help participants relax and release stress, and any harm still existing from trauma that occurred in the past.

A sound bath is what it sounds like—an event in which participants allow sound to “wash” over them the way warm water washes over bathers in a tub. The practice has been around for thousands of years, as have the instruments used. Sound is produced from a singing bowl by striking the bowl with a mallet. Once it has been struck, the bowl produces a base note and its harmonics that can last for several minutes.

The workshop is open to people with all levels of experience in yoga, and in fact no prior experience in the discipline is needed. It is necessary to register for the event in advance. The venue is One Mind Yoga on Front Street in Issaquah, and the session is scheduled for March 13, 2021, from 2.00 pm until 3.15 pm. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for those participating in events of this type.
