Film buffs have a chance to discover new films and filmmakers at an upcoming event.
Tarot 77 Entertainment is hosting the 2024 Issaquah Film Festival, the second year for the gathering. Talented filmmakers will have their efforts displayed to film fans during the festival. Dramas, documentaries, and other genres will be shown at the Regal Issaquah Highlands at Grand Ridge Plaza.
Some of the films are very short, but thought-provoking, nonetheless. The titles this year include ‘No Words,” a three-minute film about a daughter who finds she has “no words” to express her grief as she scatters her father’s ashes. Also showing is “The Big One (Or the Day Bigfoot Shot Dad)”, a two-minute short that has been seen at many festivals.
Also on the schedule is the award winning “Crooked River,” about the revelation that a family’s generational wealth may be the result of a father and son’s act of robbery. Set in the West, the film is six minutes in length.
“Searching for Solace” examines the life of Kyran, a gifted pianist, who struggles to pursue his passion in the face of the pressure of his job and schoolwork. His life becomes even more complex when he considers his relationship with Laila.
The festival is set for August 3 and 4 and tickets are on sale now. When organizers plan events like this, they often use poster printing to create advertising.
