Everyone is invited to enjoy the holidays by singing the carols of the season, and whether they can carry a tune or not does not matter.
Caroling at the Depot is an Issaquah tradition where community residents gather at the Issaquah Depot Museum to celebrate the season. The singing will be led by Fred Hopkins & Friends, who plan to encourage everyone to join in with all the classic holiday songs. Everyone is welcome, and those who have instruments such as tambourines or ukuleles are encouraged to bring them.
Those who have nothing to offer but a singing voice are just as welcome, and everyone is urged to wear seasonal clothing (including “ugly Christmas sweaters”) and Santa hats. Everyone who attends will be given candy canes and hot chocolate.
In order to keep everyone safe, only a limited number of people will be admitted, and they will be required to wear masks. Performers, who will maintain the minimum required social distance, will be able to remove their masks as they perform. An outdoor option will be available for those who would rather remain outside the Depot. Organizers of events like this can consider using flyer printing to create handouts containing song lyrics for attendees.
The fun is set for December 9 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. The Depot is on 1st Avenue NE in Downtown Issaquah.
