The largest celebration in Issaquah is now on the schedule.
The Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce organizes the event, which is the 51st Annual Issaquah Salmon Days. The two-day festival celebrates the return of salmon to the area's streams and lakes, and to the downtown hatchery. The hatchery in Issaquah is the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's most-visited hatchery, bringing in thousands of visitors annually.
The Salmon Festival itself attracts over 150,000 visitors for the weekend. Along with visits to the hatchery, attendees will enjoy live entertainment on four stages, the Field of Fun, Foods of the World, over 250 artists offering their creations in a marketplace, and a parade.
Although many of the arrangements are still being finalized, a number of artists have been confirmed. They include the Hangloose Hammock Company, LLC: Justin Hillgrove's Imps and Monsters; Marcus Harper GlassWorks; and StillFire Pottery, and many others. Over 100 entries take part in the Grande Parade, and Veterans Memorial Field is turned into the “Field of Fun,” where families can enjoy free activities and games. There will also be food of all kinds for everyone to enjoy.
