Runners who want to enjoy a challenging event should plan to be in Issaquah soon.
Squak Mountain State Park will be the location of an upcoming spring run, organized by Evergreen Trail Runs. The park offers stunning views of nearby mountains, as well as miles of trails that are well maintained and easy to traverse – the perfect place for a run.
There are three separate runs on the schedule, a 12K, a half-marathon, and a 50K. The first part of the race is about 3.5 miles long, with a 2,000-foot gain in elevation, and leads directly to the summit. From there, people running the 12K will turn left, while those doing the half-marathon and 50K go straight through. Banner printing can be used to create signage for outdoor events like this.
In addition, the organizers also offer a Woodland Speeders program, which allows children to race free at the events. The distance children run vary, but are usually approximately 1K in length. Parents can run with their children if they like.
The race is scheduled for April 24. The 50K begins at 7:00 am, but no early starts are allowed. The half-marathon begins at 9:00 am, and the 12K starts at 9:30 am. Finally, the kids’ race will start at 10:00 am. At 1:00 pm, the aid station at mile 18 will shut down, and the summit aid station will close at 2:00 pm. The entire course will close at 5:00 pm.
