An upcoming event in Issaquah has pickleball on the agenda and is raising money for an important cause.
Pickle Palooza will raise money and awareness for MS I’mpossible via a pickleball tournament. The organization is a non-profit that offers financial assistance and other resources to younger people who have Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS can affect people of any age, but MS I’mpossible provides services to those 35 and younger.
The organization was founded by Claudia Longo, who was diagnosed in high school, but refused to be limited by the condition. MS I’mpossible provides services that include monthly meetings that allow people with MS to meet others to provide support and empower each other. The organization also helps cover the cost of services including massage therapy, dietary counseling, physical therapy, and more.
The tournament is divided into two halves: the morning is a Round Robin, and the afternoon is a tournament for those who are not eliminated earlier. Participants can expect to play anywhere from two to four hours, and will play three games at a minimum. They will also have their choice of playing at one of two levels: recreational, for those who are new to pickleball or are playing for the first time; and intermediate, for those with more experience who can dink, know the rules, and have good racket abilities. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create advertising announcing them.
