The Fire Dash is coming to Issaquah this August. A 5K obstacle course that has been designed by firefighters, it allows the public to experience a small part of the rigorous training they must go through.
The race is open to everyone aged 14 and over and the proceeds go to support the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation and other local benevolent funds. Fees are $88 in advance or $98 on the day of the race for individuals, or $148 for VIP. Regular fees include a T-shirt, race bib, and a beer, while VIP includes all of the same as well a sweatshirt, gift, hat, and preferential starting position. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the venue.
There are several sections to the obstacle course and some include themes like search and rescue, saving a life, ladder rescue, and waterlogged boots. The winner in each heat wins the Fire Dash Bulldog Chain.
Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help, with openings for people as young as 14, although many of the positions are just for those over 18. They may have approached Issaquah Stationery printers to provide the Forms necessary to apply for such positions.
