Issaquah hosts a number of walks every year, and a summer event is planned.
People of all ages are welcome to take part in the upcoming Wine and Art Walk, during which participants can stroll along Front Street, part of Historic Downtown Issaquah. The walk gives people a chance to watch artists at work, explore local stores, and enjoy listening to live music, all while sipping wine. Boutique wineries and local restaurants will be taking part in the event.
Organizers say the event will take place rain or shine, and are asking people who plan to enjoy the wines to please bring their own glass, which will help reduce waste.
Tickets may be purchased on the day of the walk for $35, or in advance for $25. Each ticket includes ten tokens for one-ounce drinks, but wine tasting tickets are limited to those 21 and over. Tokens, plastic wine glasses, and maps showing the locations of participating stores, restaurants and wineries will be provided at the time participants check in. Wines can be purchased at those merchants taking part, and proceeds from the event go to support the work of the Downtown Issaquah Association. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts, such as maps, to be used at events like this.
The Wine & Art Walk is scheduled for July 18, from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm, with check in at the Shell Station at 232 Front Street.
