A comedian who started his career accidentally is coming to Issaquah with his ‘Smoking Jokes’ show.
Timmy Booth got his start in 2009 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He entered the “Last Seahawk Standing” competition at his college on a bet. Remarkably, he won both the bet and the contest, leading to the start of his career.
Timmy regularly opened at the Dead Crow Comedy Room in Wilmington. Touring comedians including Sara Schaefer, Alonzo Bodden, and Maria Bamford saw Timmy’s performances, and he appeared in the Charleston Comedy Competition Finals, the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, and won third place in the Seattle International Comedy Competition in 2022. He now co-produces “Close Friends” a Seattle comedy showcase.
Also on the show is Jody Carroll, based in Priest Lake, Idaho, who turned to standup comedy for an unusual reason. Her children were grown, she and her husband were “empty nesters., and she was looking for something to do. Discovering she had a gift for doing standup, she got started in 2019 and draws jokes from her life in Idaho, talking about cold weather and outdoor activities.
Tim Kelleher frequently talks about his children, Gen Z and millennials, and uses generational misunderstandings as a basis for his humor.
The show is scheduled for December 8 at Stan’s Bar-B-Q on Front Street North in Issaquah. Managers at venues like this can use poster printing to create advertising for the event.
