The 21st annual Art Marathon and Auction is taking place in Seattle in a couple of weeks, hosted by the Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA).
A total of 21 established or emerging artists will create works of art over a 24-hour period, which will be auctioned off later the next day.
The first event to take place during the auction will be the Artists Appreciation Party, giving guests the chance to meet the artists and watch them create their work. The next day's events include a silent auction and gala dinner followed by a live art auction hosted by David Silverman. Those who invest in a VIP table for eight will receive preferred seating, a personal host, reserved parking, and a souvenir wine glass.
This event is an opportunity for area artists to challenge themselves to create a masterpiece in 24-hours and to make themselves known to the greater community. Local printing companies have probably been asked to provide services such as flyer printing to market the event throughout the area, including in nearby Issaquah.
The Art Marathon and Auction will take place from November 14 - 15 at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club, with the silent auction and dinner set to begin at 6:00 pm and the live art auction taking place from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Tickets are $75 for CoCA members or $100 for non-members. Member tables of eight are available for $700, or $1,500 for the VIP treament.
