Gallery Row sets closure date in Gig Harbor

Art enthusiasts in Gig Harbor still have time to acquire original pieces of art made by local artists before Gallery Row closes permanently on January 20th.

For almost 30 years, the gallery has united Gig Harbor residents and tourists with local artists who produce unique paintings, jewelry, photography, glassworks, and ceramics, as well as useful fiber and wood goods. Artists sometimes utilize Print shops when presenting their work.

Gallery Row became a meeting place for artists and art lovers in 1989. It was started by a group of five watercolor artists who established a space where they could gather, paint, and display their work. It was originally located in the Finholm district, adjacent to the Shoreline restaurant that is now Anthony's.

More artists became a part of the operation, and in 2002, with rising rental rates and limited exhibit space, the gallery relocated to its current site at 3102 Harborview Drive.

A statement from the gallery’s website reads:
“It is with great regret that we are announcing that Gallery Row will be retiring at the end of the day on January 20, 2024, after 34 wonderful years as an artistic presence in Gig Harbor.”

The gallery has been a popular location for shopping, social gatherings, Sip and Stroll stops, seminars, and meetings. Gallery Row will remain open from Monday to Saturday from 10am until 5pm, and on Sunday from midday to 5pm, until its closure on January 20th.
