Gig Harbor run supports veterans and first responders

The 15th Annual Race For A Soldier returns to Gig Harbor this September. Organized by the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, the event offers a 12K race, a 5K run, and a virtual option for remote participants.

The Funds raised will support programs for military personnel, first responders, and veterans living with traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress.

The foundation runs various initiatives, including peer support gatherings, equine-assisted therapy, and Warrior PATHH training. These services aim to restore physical and emotional wellness for individuals and families affected by the hidden costs of service. The event underscores a growing awareness of the psychological toll on those who serve, emphasizing community support and resilience.

Participants can choose from three race options. The 12K race costs $72.78 and begins at 7:45 am. The 5K race starts at 8 am and is priced at $57.35. Both include a T-shirt and registration fees. A virtual race, priced at $47.06, allows supporters to participate at their own pace from any location.

Military, youth, and first responder discounts are available during registration. All registrants receive a commemorative T-shirt and finisher medal.

Flyer printing can be used by organizers to provide information about the different ways to participate in their events.

The event will take place at 10550 Harbor Hill Dr, Gig Harbor, Washington, beginning at 7:45 am on September 7th.
