Exhibit shares stories of migrants

Alice Di Certo will be presenting a photography exhibit that explores the lives of immigrants, refugees, and undocumented individuals.

This exhibit is called Home Away From Home. The main purpose of showing these collections, which are filled with emotional stories captured by photography, is to display the varied and sometimes complex experiences of these communities as they adapt to living in different places.

Di Certo, an artist whose work frequently brings attention to those who are underrepresented, takes photos of close and personal moments that express feeling and tell tales linked with the subjects of migration and displacement. The pictures in the exhibition not only show the difficulties faced by these people, but also their strengths and what they bring to society. Printing services can be used to present artwork in exhibits.

Home Away From Home also involves a sequence of workshops and discussions that accompany the visual narratives. These sessions are designed to broaden public comprehension of the challenges experienced by immigrant and refugee populations. There is also an interactive part where people will be able to write notes or messages, which creates a space for dialogue among the viewers.

The Home Away From Home photography exhibit by Alice Di Certo will be on show all through May 2024 at the Tacoma Community College Gig Harbor Campus. It is free to attend.
