The Schack Art Center will have an American Graffiti exhibit featuring graphic art created with spray paint and other materials. The first outing of this exhibit in the Pacific Northwest, there will be 85 original art pieces in the collection.
Sure to interest any local art and graphic design buffs, this art comes from all over the country from cities like New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, and Phoenix. It replicates graffiti art found on walls, buildings, tunnels, and sidewalks.
The exhibit is free to attend and will run June 25 to September 5 and hours will be Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Social distancing will be practiced.
Schack Art Center will have a summer art camp for children ages 8-12 years old. Children will learn drawing and painting, watercolor, pastels, pencil, and pen and ink. All classes are limited to six students.
There will be different art projects every week. Some of the projects will be creating a pop art painting of their favorite foods, watercolor painting using different techniques, creating collages, and learning abstract art techniques. All supplies are provided in classes, including aprons.
The sessions are July 6 to 10 from 10:00 am to noon, July 13 to 17 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, July 20 to 24 from 10:00 am to noon, July 27 to 31 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and August 3 to 7 from 10:00 am to noon.
