Everett’s Schack Art Center will be celebrating the start of fall with its annual Schacktoberfest festival throughout September.
The event is inspired by the Bavarian tradition of Oktoberfest and aims to showcase the warmth and colours of autumn. There will be a month-long exhibition featuring a glass pumpkin patch with over 1,000 unique “pumpkins.” Visitors can also sign up for a workshop to create their own glass pumpkin, overseen by expert artisans in the Schack “hot shop.”
The exhibition will also feature over 100 artworks from regional creators in a variety of media and styles. Schacktoberfest will include a silent auction for art items that runs alongside the exhibition, with proceeds going towards the Center’s educational programming. Art owners can donate previously loved original works to be auction items.
The month will include a special “Pints + Pumpkins” event, which has been a hit in past years. The party will include live music, raffles, and food and drink, with visitors receiving a complementary themed pint glass. Costumes are encouraged, with awards for the best Oktoberfest or fall-themed duds. Oktoberfest is known worldwide for outfits such as lederhosen, which are often featured in flyer printing and other advertisements for fall events.
The 2026 edition of Schacktoberfest will take place from September 3 to 27 at the Schack Art Center in Everett.
