Everett fiber exhibit to celebrate anniversary

The annual Excellence in Fibers exhibit will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in Everett this January, aiming to highlight the best of the past decade in fiber arts.

The event will feature art work composed of fibers, ranging from traditional Forms like knitting and weaving to more modern techniques. The best work submitted will be selected by a jury made up of Lori Butanis, Barbara Delaney, Beth Smith and Cami Smith of the Fiber Art Now Magazine. In addition to being exhibited in person, photographs of the work previously appeared in the magazine’s winter 2025 issue.

The exhibition will be highlighted by a number of events, beginning with an opening reception on the evening of January 15. Cami Smith will also lead a Walk and Talk event through the exhibit on February 7, explaining the jury process and why certain works were selected.

The Shack Art Center will also host classes and workshops related to the fiber arts throughout January to support the event, including “Making Unique Fabric Mache Bowls” and “Paper Weaving; Color, Pattern and Play.” Art exhibits like this often use events and brochure printing to help visitors better appreciate the art work and its context.

Excellence in Fibers X will be on display in at the Shack Art Centre in Everett from January 15 to February 14, 2026.
