This month, the Pacifica Chamber Orchestra will be performing its spring concert, which will combine different styles of classical music for a provocative and memorable afternoon.
The Everett event features four different selections, with a Concerto for Organ, String Orchestra, and Timpani by Poulenc being the feature piece of the concert. It will include Youngjin Joo on the organ. Poulenc’s work on this concerto is considered seminal for organists, and has been described in turns as both ‘dissonant’ and ‘sensuous’, say promoters of the event.
The Pacifica Chamber Orchestra is a local group led by Artistic Director Fred Chu, and seeks to play at the very highest level in a chamber setting. Its mission is offer the community a range of performances that engage and inspire, whether locally, regionally, or internationally. This is currently its sixth season playing in the Snohomish County area.
The Pacifica Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert will be held on April 10 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church located at 2936 Rockefeller Ave. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors, and can be purchased in advance through the orchestra’s season Flyers.
