The Historic Everett Theater will host a musical performance by the American singer Morgan James this March. This event will be a part of her current North American tour.
Morgan James began her singing career on Broadway. Here, she made her debut in the 2010 musical production of 'The Addams Family'. Afterwards, she worked in the production of 'Wonderland' and the revival of 'Godspell' in 2011. In 2013, she took on the role of Teena Marie in Motown: The Musical.
All the while, she worked as a singer in her spare time. Most of Morgan James' albums have consisted of covers of famous songs. These cover albums include 'Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone', 'Blue', and 'The White Album'.
Her album 'Hunter' features a cover of Prince's song 'Call My Name'. She has also collaborated with other Broadway legends on a cover album of Jesus Christ Superstar songs. Her album 'Reckless Abandon' is her first album made of completely original material and was recorded and released by her own independent label. Her latest album, 'Memphis Magnetic' is an original soul album. James is also a popular YouTube star with over 250 million views on her channel which works alongside the viral sensation Postmodern Jukebox.
