The organization was formed last August with help of a government grant, aiming to fill the gap left when the previous Everett Chamber of Commerce merged with the Economic Alliance Snohomish County in 2011.
The new chamber marked its launch with the “Brain Food” event at the APEX Art and Culture Center. The event featured a buffet lunch as well as a speech by APEX founder John Carswell, members of the Chamber’s Formation Committee, and local politicians.
The group expressed happiness at the event’s success, remarking:
“A landmark day for our business community as we officially relaunched with a sold-out event at APEX Everett. The energy and engagement proved what we've always known - Everett's business community is ready for what's next.”
Events like this offer an opportunity to develop business skills and knowledge as well as network with other professionals, often taking resumés and Business Cards along with them. The launch took place on January 15, and the Greater Everett Chamber has already attracted dozens of local businesses and organization including Hotworx, Housing Hope and Brooklyn Brothers Pizza.
