Everett’s Village Theatre troupe will be staging a classic Broadway musical while getting medieval with their performance of Camelot this April.
The play will be an adaptation of the classic Lerner and Lowe musical, which retells the story of Arthurian legend, adapted from T. H. White’s The Once and Future King. The story focuses on the love triangle between Arthur, his knight Lancelot, and Guinevere. This performance will include the more recent revisions by Frasier co-creator David Lee and new orchestrations by Steve Orich. The Everett production will be directed and staged by Moss Hart.
Starring in the show will be Harter Clingman as Arthur, Adam James King, and Jessica Skerritt, all of whom are veterans of the Pacific Northwest theater scene. Village Theatre is based out of Issaquah with operations in Everett and was founded in 1979, and is known for its production of both familiar and original stage musicals. This will be the first show of the company’s 2024-25 Mainstage season, which will also include productions of Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys, and The Color Purple. Local companies like this often use methods like poster printing and social media to help attract fans of stage musicals.
The Village Theatre Production of Camelot will be staged from October 19 to November 10, with 25 performances altogether, including matinee shows and ASL interpreted and captioned performances. All shows will take place at the Everett Performing Arts Center.
