Everett plans pirate-themed run

Running and walking can be fun ways to get in some physical activity, and an activity that will be held in Everett will provide an opportunity to do so as part of a larger group.

The Pirate 5k, 10K, and Half Marathon runs that are on the way for the community will all be staged at Langus Riverfront Park, and they are scheduled for early August, so there is plenty of time to get ready. Although it is being hosted by the US Road Running Club, those who take part do not have to be members of the organization.

Advanced registration is required to join in the fun of the activity, and race packets will be made available 30 minutes in advance of the start time. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each category, and there will also be prizes for the various age groups. Finisher’s medals will be offered, complete with a pirate theme. Walkers are welcome, but are asked to leave pets at home.

Themed events may call for special swag, and a company that prepares Promotional Products will be pleased to help. It can craft a special graphic design for such items at a variety of price points.

The Pirate 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon will be heading out from Langus Riverfront Park on August 3. Its registration system can be accessed through its listing on Raceplace.com.
