Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in Everett will have spring garden classes and special events this spring for adults and children, provided they go ahead as the world deals with the growing virus threat.
Plant work parties will be held to prepare for the plant sale in June. These work parties will be held on April 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. Volunteers will label, repot, and help organize plants for the sale.
The Celebrate the Earth Summer Bloomer Class will be held on April 18, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the Horticultural Classroom. Students will learn about summer flower bulbs and how to care for them. They can help plant bulbs later to celebrate Earth Day on the grounds.
Celebrate Earth Day will be on April 18 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. All ages are welcome to plant bulbs, with tools and bulbs provided. Those that participate will receive free bulbs and snacks will be served. Volunteer gardening will be from 10:00 am to noon during Earth Day, where participants should bring gloves and tools.
Mysteries Revealed on May 16 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm will show how the containers for plants in Everett are designed by Dee Everett and her team. Class participants will see different pots the team made and tour the greenhouse at the arboretum.
