The city of Everett is celebrating the Fourth of July with several events suitable for the entire family.
The day will start off at 11:00 am with the Colors of Freedom Parade. Traveling along Colby and Wetmore Avenues between Wall and 26th Streets, spectators are encouraged to bring along a chair while they enjoy a variety of floats, marching bands, and giant puppets.
Later that afternoon, Legion Memorial Park is hosting the Colors of Freedom Festival. It is set to feature family-friendly activities, live music, and a food fair. It begins at 1:00 pm and continues until 11:00 pm.
Also, from noon until 3:00 pm, the Fun in the Sun Fair at First Baptists Church will offer inflatables, pony rides, musical performances, and an antique car show; there will also be free cotton candy and snow cones.
Other events taking place during the day will be a police open house, the Yankee Doodle dash, and open ice skating.
The celebration of the Fourth of July will finish off with the Thunder on the Bay fireworks display at Port Gardner Bay, which will get underway at 10:20 pm.
Those participating in the parade may have invested in banner printing services from Everett companies; a banner will allow the public to know who is taking part and what they represent.
