Residents of Everett are getting ready for the Sixth Annual 3 on 3 Xtravaganza Basketball Tournament. The event promises fun games, attractive scenery, and stiff competition in one weekend.
The tournament is expected to draw over 200 teams from all over Snohomish County and the surrounding areas. The teams will be separated into multiple age and ability groups, which are then placed into divisions from children in Grade 3 all the way up to senior citizens. Co-ed divisions are included too. Each division will be divided into brackets, which will be tracked and updated by over 100 volunteers.
Additionally, the area surrounding the tournament will be set up to allow visitors to camp out overnight. Though campers will spend their nights out under the stars, showers will be made available so that everyone can get a fresh start in the mornings. Music, vendors, and concessions will also fill out the rest of the grounds, creating an atmosphere that is part festival, part competition. Vendor spaces are still available for food and concessions.
