Everett gears up for sausage celebration

The residents of Everett are prepping their lederhosen for the 39th Annual Everett Sausage Festival. The event features a Bavarian theme and a wide variety of food and fair activities.

The centerpieces of the Festival are the Bavarian Beer Garden, offering traditional German dance music along with a wide variety of beers and wines from around the world, and the Bavarian Dinner Haus, serving a German-style dinner. Various other food booths will also be scattered around the grounds however, so an aversion to sauerkraut and suchlike should not be a problem.

A large number of fair-style games and activities are also present. Bracelets available for purchase grant admission to the many carnival rides for one day and night. Games such as fishing, free throws, and football tosses will also allow festival-goers to test their skill and luck. More than 30 arts and crafts booths will sell works by local crafters. A tent will also provide nonstop games of Xtreme Bingo.

Printing services have no doubt already started working on the huge amount of copy needed for the event. The Everett Sausage Festival will take place from 12:00 pm to 12:00 am this Friday and Saturday, and from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, at the Perpetual Help Grounds on the corner of Everett Avenue and Cedar. Anyone seeking further information should visit the event’s website.
