Everett festival to showcase independent music

With almost a decade under its belt, the Seagaze Festival will be returning to Everett this September, looking to provide an alternative to major commercial music fests.

The festival describes itself as the first one in the Seattle area focused on the genres of shoegaze, psych rock, and post-punk, all of which provide alternative spins on traditional pop and rock music. This year’s festival will be headlined by Actors and The Veldt. Over a dozen other musical artists will also perform, including The Stargazer Lillies, The Prids, and Jupe Jupe. DJ Activate will also be spinning beats during the Friday night show.

The festival will spread across two days, with three different venues. All venues will be located in the Everett soapbox district, allowing for easy travel between them. Festivals like this often use social media and flyer printing highlighting artists’ names to raise awareness in the surrounding area.

Promotional material says of the Seagaze Festival:

“Since its debut in 2016, the not-for-profit festival has showcased compelling and eclectic performances by bands from the Pacific Northwest, the US, and abroad, with the mission of supporting and promoting bands in shoegaze, post-punk, and psych rock.”

The 2025 Seagaze Music Festival will be on Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6 at the Lucky Dime, the Horseshoe Cabaret, and the Monte Cristo Ballroom.
