Working with ceramics can be a lot of fun, and the participants in an Everett hands-on class will gain some experience in crafting a piece for themselves.
Studio 2 at Schack Art Center will be the location for a workshop that will teach the basics of ceramics by crafting whimsical birds. They can keep their project or gift it to someone special, and the pieces will be fired and made ready for pick up by staff at the Center.
The attendees will use basic clay techniques to prepare their bird, and they will be working with a variety of colored clays. They will be patinaed by the instructor before they are placed in the kiln for bisque firing, and in three weeks, they will be ready for pick up. They may be displayed indoors or out, and the ticket price for this introductory session are $70 each. All of the supplies needed will be provided to the learners.
