Everett cafe to see New Year in with garage rock
Everett’s own Cafe Zippy will hold a New Year’s Eve celebration party this December.
This event will feature games of bingo, glasses of beer, and an East Coast-style countdown to the New Year around 9:00 pm. Also, the garage band Badd Chicken will be performing.
Cafe Zippy is a female-owned small business in Everett that sells environmentally friendly, vegan, gluten-free products. These include beverages such as coffees, smoothies, wines, beers, and loose-leaf teas, as well as foods such as salads, soups, and desserts. The cafe also displays and sells art by multiple local artists.
Badd Chicken is a garage rock band that believes in the power of homegrown original music over covers and karaoke, and mixes several Americana styles such as rock, blues, and country. Songwriter Eric Scott, the founder of the group, writes the band’s songs (which number at over 1,000) and records all the music himself inside his studio. He only enlists the help of fellow musicians when his ‘band’ needs to perform.
The event will take place on Friday, December 31, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Cafe Zippy, which is located at 1502 Rucker Avenue in Everett. There is no charge for the event, but the cafe encourages guests on their flyer printing to bring extra cash for tipping the band.
