The city of Everett has issued a request to the community seeking helping hands for a local beautification project that takes place each spring.
Early May will see volunteers fan out across the community’s downtown core to install seasonal planters. All help will be appreciated, and there are two different start times available.
The helpers who sign up for the project will be filling their assigned planters with flowers and foliage, and this they can do as few or as many as their schedule allows. Everyone is asked to bring their gardening gloves as well as small hand tools, sunscreen, a garden tote or pail to carry their tools, water, and rain gear if the weather is wet.
This annual project comes with a price tag, and to help cover the expense, the organizers have set up a sponsorship program. These donation amounts run from $25 to $75. Communities often choose to have small plaques or other signage prepared that thanks the business community for sponsoring an initiative, and these can be prepared by a banner printing company.
Everett has scheduled its Downtown Planting Day for May 6. The planting station will be set up in Wetmore Theater Plaza, and the start times are scheduled for 9:30 am and 11:00 am. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to sign up now.
