The Schack Art Center will be holding its annual Fresh Paint festival this August, bringing visual creativity out into the streets of Everett.
The festival features over 100 booths featuring unique art to purchase, interactive activities, and local organizations. Visitors can observe live glassblowing and musical performances. Artists will also be working in the Shack Center’s Open Studios with viewers able to converse with them and gain insight into the artistic process as well as arrange for the purchase of art. The festival will showcase a variety of different media including printmaking, painting, and mixed media. Artists often draw on local Print shops and art supply stores to help create works in these formats.
This year, Fresh Paint will partner with the Port of Everett’s Float Find event. Handblown glass balls, or “floats”, will be created by the Center’s own Richard Langley scattered around the Port’s Waterfront Place and Jetty Island for residents to find throughout the summer. Fresh Paint will include finished and in-progress examples of these floats at the festival. There will also be food trucks and a farmer’s market on Sunday morning to highlight the artistry of local food.
The 2025 Edition of Fresh Paint will take place on August 16 and 17 inside the Schack Art Center as well as along Hoyt Avenue and Wall Street in Everett.
