The Everett annual Sorticulture arts festival returns next month to a new location in the city.
The move will allow for increased social distancing, with more than 17,000 area residents expected to attend.
This year marks the 23rd Sorticulture festival in the city. Over 100 artists will be onsite, selling their handmade crafts, outdoor garden décor and furniture, flowers and plants from local nurseries, gardening tools, and artwork. Food trucks will also be parked and ready to serve. Non-profit organizations, perhaps using brochure printing to distribute outdoor-themed resources, will be available at the event as well.
Vendor applications have closed, but those seeking a last-minute spot may email tchism@everettwa.gov. Vendors must have a business license from the city of Everett, and must offer handcrafted items with outdoor themes. Garden tools may be sold but they must be manufactured in the USA.
Everett’s downtown core is lined with trees and flowers, and features an abundance of stores, restaurants, and bars. The relocation of the festival to Wetmore Avenue is expected to be positive, as those in attendance will be able to take advantage of these amenities during their visit.
The three-day festival was designed to instill pride in Everett residents, and has become a much anticipated yearly celebration of the outdoors.
Sorticulture will be held on June 11 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, June 12 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and June 13 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The festival will be held on Wetmore Avenue between Everett St. and Hewitt Avenue.
