Annual planting day returns to Everett

The Downtown Everett Association has organized its fifth annual Downtown Planting Day in an attempt to beautify the city of Everett, Washington.

The event’s volunteers will spend the day planting flowers and other plants in the available street planters provided by the Downtown Flower Program.

The Downtown Everett Association has requested volunteers to bring their own gardening supplies. These include personal protective equipment like gardening gloves; weather protective supplies like a hat, strong sunscreen, rain gear, and sunglasses; gardening tools for both weeding and planting, such as hand prunes, a trowel, and a hand rake; a bucket or a basket for totting all these tools; as well as a refillable water bottle for adequate hydration

Additionally, volunteers are requested to bring wagons, wheelbarrows, or gardening carts if they own them. These items will help transport the plants and flowers from the designated meeting area, the Wetmore Theatre Plaza, to their assigned planters. The organizers of event like this may use local flyer printing services to Print and distribute Flyers to effectively promote and market their initiative.

This event isn’t just a flower planting day, it’s also an opportunity for the Downtown Everett Partners to collect donations to support the Main Street program goals. The program costs over $16,000 per year to maintain its 300 street planters and hanging baskets.

This event will take place on April 27. There are two check-in times, 9:30 am and 11 am, for volunteers to consider.
