In the fall, Alaska Airlines will introduce eight new flights to the West Coast from Everett Paine Field.
The destinations added are Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose.
The frequency, times, and departures of these flights will be announced later this year, as Alaska Airlines seeks to be the go-to airline for the West Coast.
Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer, said Alaska Airlines is happy to be the anchor tenant for the new terminal at Paine Field.
The new passenger services are designed to attract global business. Alaska Airlines will fly passengers to the new destination in its new Embraer E175 jets using subsidiary airline Horizon Air.
These aircraft seat 76 people and have three classes of service. The jets’ amenities include movies, Wi-Fi connectivity, free texting, and TV shows.
These jets are designed for short or mid-range flights with extra wide seats. The windows are extra large too.
In 2017, Horizon Air hired 307 pilots for the new flights and to address a shortage, according to Gary Beck, the airline’s chief executive. Another 64 pilots are scheduled to be trained this year for these added flights.
