A popular Thursday evening music series has just started in Bellingham, featuring many local bands.
Blues, Brews & BBQ is a feature of the summer at the Waterfront Terrace of the Hotel Bellwether. Concertgoers can enjoy cocktails, craft beers, and BBQ, watch boats sailing on Bellingham Bay, then listen to some of their favorite bands.
First up in August is Midlife Crisis & the Alimony Horns. This band plays straight-ahead rock and has been performing for 34 years. They were a hit at the Mt. Baker Rhythm and Blues Festival.
The next week brings Michele D’Amour & The Love Dealers. D’Amour belts out the blues as well as torch songs. The group won the title of Best Blues Band from the LA Music Critics.
Cascadia Groove is next up, bringing a mix of jazz and funk to audiences, as well as their versions of classics from artists like Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.
The month ends with the Chris Eger Band. Eger is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist as well as a powerful vocalist who has been nominated by the Washington Blues Society as Best Male Vocalist three years running.
The doors open at 5:00 pm each week, and the bands play from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Midlife Crisis appears August 4, D’Amour performs August 11, Cascadia Groove on August 18, and Christ Eger on August 25. When organizers plan events like this, they can use flyer printing to create handouts with info about the performers.
