A festive celebration of the sea is coming to Bellingham for the fifth year.
Bellingham SeaFeast pays tribute to the city's history as a seaport, but also gives residents and visitors a chance to enjoy delicious seafood. The City of Bellingham founded the festival in 2016 as a way to celebrate the community's maritime heritage and culture, and enjoy its working waterfront. SeaFeast also brings attention to the ways in which residents can conserve water while still enjoying it, and celebrates local seafood industries and the commercial fishermen working out of Bellingham. The event also highlights the exceptional cuisine found in the Pacific Northwest.
SeaFeast was created to explore an increasing interest in the economic impact of the fishing and maritime sectors on the economy of the city. The Tourism Commission gave the city the seed money to start SeaFeast, which has now become Bellingham Bay's signature event.
Although the 2020 celebration is still being organized, photos of last year's SeaFeast show bands playing live music, and attendees enjoying plates of seafood and cold beers. Boat rides are also part of the fun.
The event is scheduled for September 19 and 20 at Zuanich Point Park in downtown Bellingham, with view of both Bellingham Bay and Squalicum Harbor. Flyer printing is an excellent tool to use to create handouts for events like this, giving attendees a list of vendors and their locations.
