A popular conference is scheduled for Bellingham.
Western Washington University will be the site of the 19th Annual Children’s Literature Conference. The day begins with registration, breakfast breads and coffee, and a chance for people to buy Books and obtain autographs. A welcome address by Sylvia Tag kicks things off, then two authors will make their presentations: Linda Sue Park and Eugene Yelchin. After lunch, Joy McCullough and E.B. Lewis will give their talks. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create schedules for attendees.
Linda Sue Park is probably best known for her novel “A Single Shard,” which won the Newbery Medal in 2002.
Eugene Yelchin immigrated to the United States from Russia. Among many career accomplishments, he created the character designs for the 2011 film “Rango,” which won an Oscar as Best Animated Feature.
Joy McCullough won the Pacific Northwest and Washington State book awards with “Blood Water Paint,” her debut novel for young adults.
E.B. Lewis describes himself as an “artistrator.” He recently published a picture book, “Preaching to the Chickens,” a biography of John Lewis that was named “Best Illustrated Book” by Kirkus and the New York Times and won a Golden Kite.
The festival is scheduled for February 12 on the WWU campus in Bellingham and is a full-day event, starting with registration at 8.00 am. The day winds up with all speakers taking part in a question-and-answer session starting at 3.30 pm.
