Midland, a songwriting trio from Dripping Springs, Texas, refined their sound at the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas. They went on to build a fan base that helped them sell out performances at venues as widely separated as the Palomino Club in North Hollywood and the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show. The Palomino Club was once celebrated as the West Coast home for country music but closed in 1995. It was reopened for one night for the Midland concert.
Their sound has been described as “post-Urban Cowboy country” that appeals to fans of music throughout the world. Their huge hit “Drinkin’ Problem” went triple platinum and was the spark that led to the release of their album “On the Rocks” in 2017, which won praise from critics. Their next album, “Let It Roll,” released in 2019, made its debut in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
