The Bellingham Festival of Music is taking place for a full 16 days this July. It is a celebration of orchestral classical music.
The festival will feature several live performances by artists such as the Calidore String Quartet and Pablo Villegas. Chamber by the Bay will bring Bellingham Orchestra musicians and the Calidore String Quartet to the general public, and it will be followed by a reception.
In addition to performances, there will be free lectures and several free concerts will be held at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art and Mallard Ice Cream. There are also set to be two free master classes. They will feature Christina Smith on Flute and Pablo Villegas on Guitar, with both events to be held at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church on two separate Saturdays.
The artistic director of the festival is Michael Palmer and several fundraising events were held earlier in the year to help support this year's season. Bellingham brochure printers are sometimes asked to provide programs for annual events such as these, as they serve as both a guide to what is playing and a souvenir of the event.
The Bellingham Festival of Music is being held at the WWU Performing Arts Center from July 5 to 20. Tickets range in price from $12 for individual student tickets to $319 for the full season. To find out more about the performances, call 360-201-6621.
