A stand-up comedian whose performances are distinctly adult is coming to Bellingham.
Rodney Carrington is a native of Texas who began his career there, performing comedy in local clubs. His first album, 1998’s “Hangin’ with Rodney,” contained both comedy and music, a format he has followed ever since. It proved to be his breakthrough. His second album, “Morning Wood,” was certified Gold, and to date he has released eight albums on major labels, and three on Laughter’s Good Records, his own label. He hit Platinum status with his double CD “Greatest Hits.”
Carrington is also an author and actor. Hatchette Books published his book “Rodney Carrington, Coming Clean,” and he starred in the TV sitcom “Rodney,” which ran on ABC for two seasons. He co-starred in “Beer for My Horses, a feature film also starring Toby Keith. Netflix viewers may know him from his special “Here Comes the Truth.”
His awards include the Tex Ritter Award, given by the Academy of Country Music, and the title of “Supporting Character of the Year” for his work in “I Got My Game On,” a music video starring Trace Adkins.
Carrington will be at the Mt. Baker Theatre on Friday, June 28. When events like this are planned, organizers will often contact printers who will use poster printing to create attractive and effective advertising for the show.
