It will soon be time for everyone to celebrate all things Irish, including two special events.
Bellingham is planning its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a communitywide non-profit event that honors public safety workers and local law enforcement personnel. It is also a chance to celebrate the non-profits, schools, groups, and businesses that make Bellingham a great place to live.
The event inspires and celebrates sustainable practices. Anna Rankin has been named this year’s parade Grand Marshal, and everyone in the city is invited to take part in the parade. They can either wear green and watch the parade as it winds along the waterfront in the city’s downtown, or march in it for themselves. In order to do the latter, all they need to do is show up at the assembly point. If people would like to enter a float, they need to contact the organizers. Entry is free.
As well as this, an annual run is returning to help celebrate the day. The Runnin' O' the Green 5K & 8K will be held at the Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro.
Although St. Patrick’s Day itself is March 17, the Bellingham parade is March 11, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
The Runnin’ O’ the Green is also March 11, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, so participants will have a little time to cool off before the parade. When outdoor events like these are scheduled, organizers can help attendees by using banner printing to create signage such as course markers.
