An upcoming festival in Bellingham will involve elements taken from some of the best festivals in the world, including art, music, craft beer, and mountain biking.
The Northwest Tune-Up will be a full weekend of fun that celebrates the best of the region. First up are bikes and racing, since Bellingham is famous for its bicycle culture. Given this enthusiasm for the sport, the tune-up will offer spectator-friendly exhibitions, kids’ events, guided clinics, demonstrations of top bike brands, and competitions. The competitions will be held in pumptrack, dirt jump, and enduro categories.
Music is a huge part of the festival, and bands will be playing all weekend in bubblegrunge, synthwave, bluegrass, and other genres. Performers this year are the Yonder Mountain String Band, Lupe Fiasco, RJD2, Indigo de Souza, Emancipator, Dengue Fever, The Lil Smokies, Petty or Not, Magic Sword, Protoje Meets Tippy 1, Saxsquatch, and The Moondoggies.
Bellingham is known for its beer culture, with 19 (thus far) breweries operating in Whatcom County. There will be more than two dozen kombuchas, ciders, and beers on tap at the festival.
The final element of the festival is art. Visual artists will be in attendance where visitors can enjoy works inspired by the nature, climate, and geography of the Pacific Northwest.
The Northwest Tune-Up is scheduled for July 12-14, at venues throughout the community. Organizers of events like this will often work with flyer printing to create handouts for attendees, listing performers and times of the shows.
