An opportunity for some outdoor exploration and fun is on the horizon in Bainbridge Island, with a local park getting set to open its doors to guests.
The Opt-Outside Afternoon on the Trails, which is being organized by Community Education, has opened online registration to interested individuals who want to enjoy the changing seasons by enjoying quality time in nature ahead of the holiday rush. The experience, which will provide an alternative to Black Friday shopping, is designed to help participants enjoy local trails and fresh air at IslandWood.
IslandWood will make its extensive trail system open and accessible to ticket holders who want to indulge in a self-guided exploration session. The Spine Trail is expected to be a popular choice, as will the host site’s ravine trail and its suspension bridge. Brochure printing gives organizers a format to share more extensive information about community events like this, supporting promotional goals.
The trails will take participants through different ecosystems where hemlocks, maples, and pine trees provide homes to native bird species like ospreys and eagles. All ages are welcome, as are packed picnic lunches. Attendees are asked to leave their furry friends at home.
IslandWood, located on Blakely Avenue West in Bainbridge Island, will open its doors at noon on Friday, November 27th. Interested individuals can make reservations for free online.
