Creatives and art enthusiasts in Bainbridge Island have an immersive experience to look forward to this March, as an accomplished artist will be hosting a talk in town.
The Tethered series will be continuing in Bainbridge Island shortly, with organizers preparing for the Artist Talk with Aimee Lee. The event will provide a platform for artist Lee to share her knowledge of hanji, which is traditional Korean paper. Lee will shed light on the paper’s history and the journey that she took in connecting with her ancestry.
Lee, an internationally recognized artist, will share how she became a trailblazer in the Korean method and art of papermaking. She will explain how the hanji technique was used throughout Korea’s history, including the large-scale projects for which it was used. Local Print shops can be invaluable resources for promoting such community events and increasing attendance.
Lee will also take the audience on a deeper dive into her experience creating her BIMA solo exhibition. The gathering will conclude with a Q-and-A session and a reception where attendees can meet her.
The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art will be the host site for the artist’s talk and meet-and-greet session, which is set for Saturday, March 14 at 3:00 PM. Tickets are available online for $12 for museum members and $14 for non-members.
