Members of the Bainbridge Island community seeking a reason to gather and celebrate are in luck, as a ball commemorating the island’s infamous flamingo visitors is in the works.
The Flamingo Ball, which is being touted as Bainbridge Island’s most fabulous party of the year, is being organized in town to recognize and celebrate a flock of flamingos that made two separate visits to the island last year. Attendees can expect an evening of dancing, disco music, and pink feathers to match the ball’s theme.
The experience will be a mix of New York City’s Studio 54 and the typical Bainbridge Island mischief that area residents are accustomed to. It will offer the community another way to have fun together while also welcoming the summer months to town. Tools like flyer and poster printing can help organizers take a grassroots marketing approach to promoting community events like this in town.
Attendees are asked to dress in their most fabulous attire, with sequins and sparkle encouraged. The dance floor will be open throughout the night, with the highlight being the Flamingo Strut Contest. The organizers hope to turn the Flamingo Ball into a new community tradition.
The ball is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. The Filipino American Community Hall in Bainbridge Island is set to host. Tickets are available online for $28.52 per person.
