The 9th annual Lund Mother’s Day Ride and Walk for Children is taking place next month.
The event is a fundraiser for the Lund Maternity Home and is presented by the North Country Federal Credit Union.
Participants will have a choice between 55, 30, 16, and 4-mile bike rides or a walk. During registration, coffee, bagels and fruit will be provided. After the event, there will be food and ice cream for purchase, live musical entertainment and a variety of children’s activities, which will likely include bounce houses and face painting.
Registration fees are $10 for the short family ride plus $10 in pledges, and $50 for longer riders plus $100 in pledges, or $25 for children.
The Lund Maternity Home provides education for expectant mothers such as helping them complete high school, assistance finding work, advice on topics such as adoption, substance abuse treatments, and family support.
Local printing companies often provide items such as pledge Forms that are used for fundraising events such as this. Participants from all over, including nearby Hinesburg, can then use them to gather pledges from friends, family, and work colleagues.
