Jaimie Branch to jazz up Colchester next month

Burlington and surrounding communities such as Colchester will have the opportunity to welcome Jaimie Branch and her band for a dynamic and fearless jazz event touted as being modern yet defiant. The communal experience is anticipated to leave attendees enlightened with a new perception of modern jazz.

The jazz style has been likened to Julius Hemphill as well as Bill Dixon, Don Cherry and Booker Little, all renowned trumpeters. It is often recognized by critics as being delivered in a hyperactive manner with a spicy sound.

Branch released a solo album, “Fly or Die”, as her debut in 2017, which had a profound effect in the jazz genre. In 2019 the follow-up album, “Fly or Dye II: Bird Dogs of Paradise” was released on the International Anthem record label. Band members featured on the album included Chad Taylor on drums, Lester St. Louis on cello, and Jason Ajemian on bass.

Brochure printing is often part of planning for musical performances. A brochure can include information about the singers or band, the venue, and the program. They can be distributed in advance to create interest and increase ticket sales.

The Jaimie Branch performance will take place at Flynn Space located at 153 Main Street on June 9 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online.
