Woodbridge to hold job fair for postal employees

The United States Postal Service is beginning the fourth year of its 10-year “Delivering to America” plan, and is continuing to focus on hiring people for secure and rewarding careers. Towards this goal, it will soon be holding a job fair at the Woodbridge post office.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) notes that a career in this field has many benefits. As the second largest employer in the country, the USPS provides training and offers variety, as well as the opportunity for advancement. Its programs for development train and prepare employees for growth and promotions in many areas of the service. In addition to competitive salaries, other benefits include several choices for life and health insurance, sick leave and vacation time, assistance for qualifying education, and thrift savings and retirement plans.

Personnel from the USPS will be at the job fair to provide more information about open positions and to answer questions about benefits and starting salaries. Those who apply for positions need to be 18 years of age or older and must pass a background investigation and drug screening test. Working on holidays and weekends will also be required.

The job fair will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm this Friday, April 26 at the Woodbridge post office. Job seekers may wish to bring résumés and Business Cards to help them make an impact.
