A dedicated Commuter Spine Program has been introduced by Virginia Family Chiropractic at its office on Richmond Highway, Woodbridge.
This is a pathway for treatment of chronic low-back complaints and postural distortions experienced by patients from prolonged driving along Interstate 95. Spinal decompression, targeted rehabilitation, and adjunctive laser therapy are paired with the structural correction of chiropractic biophysics (CBP) to address the biomechanical patterns developed by Northern Virginia commuters while on the Railway Express, or after many years of driving. The office has two doctors certified in CBP, a family nurse practitioner, and a supervising medical doctor for oversight.
Patients undergo digital postural analysis and imaging in real time that captures the load on the motion of the spine, as opposed to the static snapshots provided by standard X-rays. Treatment combines cervical and lumbar traction performed at home with adjustments in the office to reinforce curative changes between visits.
Patients from the greater Route 1 corridor, Dumfries, Lorton, Lake Ridge, and Dale City can be served by this new service. Workers’ compensation, VA benefits, TRICARE, and Virginia auto insurance carriers will be covering this program. Virginia Family Chiropractic offers extended hours on weekdays and on Saturday morning to accommodate those who work standard hours.
