There will be several events in the Woodbridge area next month including a tour of an important battlefield, a special screening, and ghost stories.
The volunteers and staff of the Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park will commemorate the 163rd anniversary of the Battle of Bristoe Station. This was the final offensive campaign of Robert E. Lee in the Civil War. Attendees will be able to tour the battlefield and learn about the last major battle of the war fought in the county. This event will be held on Saturday October 10 and Sunday October 11 with tours at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
The Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre will have a showing of “Ghost Hunters.” The centre was featured in the film from 2009. This showing is free and open to the public and will take place from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday October 23.
Campfire Ghost Stories will take place at the Ben Lomond Historic Site in Manassas. The site was a hospital during the Civil War, a private home, and a farm and has developed a reputation for people seeing ghosts and other spooky activities. This will be an evening of ghost stories about the site shared around a campfire and will be from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday October 30.
Such events in the Woodbridge area offer residents many ways to enjoy the region. Poster printing can help spread the word about such special events.
